Severe Weather Hits the Area

Once again, Mother Nature showed her fury when severe storms hit Metcalfe and surrounding counties, causing lots of damage as a cold front began moving through the area while the atmosphere was hot and humid.
The front caused high winds, heavy rainfall, and five confirmed tornadoes in Kentucky. An EF-1 has been confirmed as hitting Knob Lick. A confirmed EF-2 hit in Hart and Grayson Counties, and that tornado traveled for 21 miles on the ground. These storms hit multiple homes and businesses in the areas, causing days or even weeks of cleanup and repairs.
A big thank you goes out to the weather spotters, rescue workers, firefighters, ambulance personnel, police, dispatcher personnel, and volunteers. The sirens were sounding repeatedly, and no injuries have been reported.
