Fiscal Court Backs Fire Truck Loan

Butler County Fiscal Court held its regular meeting on July 13, 2026. All magistrates were present.

The 4th District fire department asked the Fiscal Court for permission of the Court to co-sign a loan of $63,000, for a 2001 International pumper truck. The department will pay a down payment of $7,000 and finance the remaining balance for 7 years at 5.75%. This makes the payment $10,500 annually. After a lengthy discussion the Fiscal Court agreed to co-sign.

Butler County Clerk Sherri Johnson amended her first quarter budget and presented her second quarter budget. The County Clerk took in $1,530,148.08 and paid out $1,641,923.59, part of the payout was from March.

The Fiscal Court approved the Judge Exec to sign the contract for the FY26-27 LARP Funds agreement in the amount of $253,000, for road repairs.

The Fiscal Court appointed Sara Duncan to the Butler County Public Library Board of Trustees. The Court also voted to pay the Woodbury RV Transient tax for $9,720.

The Fiscal Court approved the following; 4th District Treasurers report with the agreed amendments, Jail contract roadside inmate work crew agreement, to sign a letter of support for Butler County schools to apply for a federal grant and to allocated funds in support over five years, approved the homeland security grant resolution, the 2nd reading of the data center moratorium, the June Treasurers report, quarterly/year end Treasurer’s report, to transfer $10,000 to the E-911 fund, $35,000 to the Jail Fund, and all other bills and transfers.

Judge Executive Tim Flenner read a card from Laura Elliot. Elliot thanked everyone for the ferries in Butler County. She enjoys crossing the ferries.

Court was adjourned. The next Fiscal Court will be July 27, 2026 at 5:00pm in the upstairs courtroom and is open to the public.
