As the nation honors the signing of the U.S. Constitution, Butler County is joining in with a weeklong celebration of civic pride, education, and reflection. Constitution Week, observed annually from September 17–23, commemorates the foundational document that continues to shape American democracy.

Locally, events are being planned to engage residents of all ages in learning about the Constitution’s enduring relevance. From public readings to student forums, Butler County is embracing the opportunity to deepen its civic roots. Schools are encouraged to participate through activities such as classroom discussions, student-led assemblies, and Constitution-themed art or writing projects.

Butler County and Green River Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution are encouraging schools, libraries, and civic groups to participate. “Constitution Week is more than a history lesson—it’s a chance to reflect on what it means to be an active citizen,” said Lynda O’Driscoll, regent of Butler County Chapter.

Have your bells ready to ring in the celebration on September 17 to mark the start of Constitution Week.

Whether you’re a lifelong patriot or just beginning to explore your civic identity, Constitution Week offers a moment to connect with the principles that unite us.

Thanks to our County and City Governments, Schools, both Public and Christian, for joining with our local NSDAR Chapters to celebrate Constitution Week.
Proclamations were awarded, bells rang out over the city and county, students learned more about the meaning of the U.S. Constitution. Many students and adults alike are now participating in a Constitution Week Poster Contest throughout the U.S., including Morgantown, Butler Co, KY because of the DAR.
