Fiscal Court Signs Older American and EMS Services Proclamation

Edmonson County Fiscal Court held its regular meeting on May 11, 2026. All magistrates were in attendance except for Mark Meeks.

Eric Sexton from BRADD addressed the Fiscal Court about Older Americans. Judge Executive Scott Lindsey signed the Older Americans Proclamation, and visitors from the Edmonson County Senior Center attended the signing.

Judge Lindsey also signed the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) proclamation. EMS director Keith Sanders was on hand for the occasion. EMS week will run May 17-23. This is the 52nd anniversary of EMS week.

Joe-Joe Montgomery gave the road report. He stated that the little tractor and skid steer were in disrepair at this time, but he is sourcing the best way to have repairs made. The road crew has been mowing on the North side of the county and will be moving to the South side as soon as they finish.

Emergency Director Terry Massey reported that there had been 30 runs in the last two weeks.

Sheriff James Vincent reported 512 calls to service in April.

Deputy Jailer Ray Willhite reported 11 inmates at present. County Clerk Kevin Alexander spoke about early voting. There had been 24 ballots requested for mail-in voting. Rocky Hill and the Community Church at Cedar Springs have combined to use one building with separate voting for each area due to low expected turnouts. You will need to go to the Rocky Hill Fire Department to vote if you live in District 3. The three voting centers, South Edmonson, Community Center, and Kyrock, will be open on election day, May 19, along with the regular polling places.

Parks and Rec. Director Cody Stewart reported that Little League is in the middle of its season. Registration for Volleyball is open until May 31.

In Judge’s update, Judge Exec Scott Lindsey was very happy to announce that Sunfish Roundhill Road is expected to be completed by June1, 2026.

The Fiscal Court approved the following; Treasurer’s April Monthly Settlement report, AOC Court Facilities local government reimbursement form for Fiscal Year 2027 for Edmonson County Courthouse, AOC Court Facilities local government reimbursement form for Fiscal Year 2027 for Edmonson County Courthouse Annex, fiscal year 2027 Pre-approved recurring expenses, First reading of Ordinance EC26-15 Fiscal year 2027 county budget, Fiscal Year 2027 Waste Tire Grant, Fiscal Year 2025 EMPG Grant, to advertise for Slat bid, to advertise for Road materials bid, and Treasurer’s Bond # 2547987 renewal.

The Following were approved by the Fiscal Court pending final audit: Sheriff’s April Monthly Fee Account report, Sheriff’s Tax Collection report, April MVAV Tax Collection report, County Clerk’s April Excess Fee report, County Clerk’s Deed Transfer Tax report, and County Clerk’s April Delinquent Tax Collection Report.

The Fiscal Court acknowledged the County Clerk’s April Document Storage Fee report pending final audit. The Fiscal Court acknowledged the Dog Control April CAD report.

The next Fiscal Court meeting will be on May 22, 2026, at 4:00pm in the upstairs courthouse room, and is open to the public.
