George Adams Whitten
EDMONTON – George Adams Whitten, 81, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2025, at Twin Lakes Medical Center. George was born August 13, 1944, in Salem, OH, to the late Robert James and Mary Buback Whitten. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Raelynn Whitten, two brothers, Harold Whitten and Bob Whitten, and his sister, Mary Feezle.
George served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. His military service was a source of pride for him, demonstrating his dedication to his nation. He was known not only for his workmanship but also for his passion for tinkering with various objects. This hobby reflected his enjoyment of hands-on work and allowing him to work on automobiles and appliances.
He is survived by his four sons, George Whitten II, Matthew Whitten, both of Ohio, Thomas Whitten of Upton, and Paul Whitten of Edmonton; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and one brother, John (Cheryl) Whitten. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In honor of George’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation. Butler Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted to the care of Mr. Whitten.
