The Butler County High School cross-country boys team clinched another berth, the fourth consecutive year, to run in the state meet this Saturday at the Lexington Horse Park, an accomplishment that has never been achieved. For the girls, they all ran personal records for the season in their regional meet this past Saturday in Cecilia, KY.

Pacing the Bears were seniors, Ryder Harbaugh and Case Hooten, who finished fourth and fifth overall, in the Region 2, Class 2A XC Meet. Hudson Fuller, only a 7th grader, was the third Bears runner to cross the finish line in the top 40. Carson Davis and Marvin Brown were a shoelace difference from one another, literally hundredths of a second variance. Davis and Brown, plus Landon Henderson along with Rhett Anderson, were all in the top 75, essentially helping advance the Bears to state this weekend.

Senior, Harmony Taylor, just missed out on the top 20 in Cecilia, finishing 21st in the girl’s competition. Emily Gregory and Sophie Minor were 51st and 58th overall in the regional meet. This will conclude the girls’ season on a personal best for each of the three.

Some members of the Butler County Elementary XC team recently went to Lexington and competed in the state meet. Lane Pendley came in 33rd place to earn a medal in the boys run while Landon Hudnall finished 243rd. Carley Davis’s 66th and Nora Lindsey’s 102nd strong finishes represented Butler County in the girls.
