The Edmonson County High School girls’ basketball program enters their third year under Coach Jody Booth and the team is known for an unrelenting defense and an offense that is always moving. ECHS hosted the Caverna Lady Colonels as the regular season was ending and the Lady Cats were preparing for the 12th District Tournament.

The Lady Cats made light work of the Lady Colonels thumping them 66-16. Shelby Sowders (6 rebounds) poured in 20 points to lead ECHS. Cariann Williams had 16 points and led the team with 11 rebounds, recording another double-double for the season.

Addison Spainhoward and Harper Leedy each had 7 points. Hayley Sanders and Leilani Powell each added 5 points. Emberly Graham chipped in 3 points. Jocelyn Decker had a basket, and Haley Hill made one shot at the charity stripe.

Coach Booth emptied his bench ensuring all his players got court time. Twelve different players recorded at least 1 rebound for a team total of 40 rebounds.

With only a few games remaining in the regular season, the Lady Cats were 16 -7 overall and 5 -1 in District 12.

During the game, Williams was recognized for her incredible senior career stats including grabbing her 1,500th rebound against Caverna. Williams has 2,000 points, 1,500 rebounds, and 700 blocks. Sowders, just a junior, scored her 1,000th point and was also recognized for her great career accomplishment.
