The Edmonton/Metcalfe Industrial Development Authority (IDEA) held its regular April meeting on Monday, April 15th. Absent from the meeting were Jerry Garmon, Matt Gallagher, and Judge/Executive Larry Wilson.

A quorum was present and the minutes from the March 18th meeting were approved with no changes.

The monthly financial report was presented by Secretary/Treasurer Alley Bragg for the period of 3/18 – 4/15/24. Payments were made on the BRADD loan of $1,476.20 and the Edmonton State Bank loan of $6,866.79 leaving a balance of $26,220.92 in the account.

Mayor Doug Smith was asked if he had chosen a replacement for the spot left absent by Mark Linkous’ departure. Smith replied, “No, I’ve talked to somebody and they hadn’t got back with me.”

Chairperson Lisa Boswell reported that she had sent the bylaws to Attorney Brian Pack and had not heard back from him. She intends to check with him. Smith had spoken to Pack and he stated that the bylaws were not necessary with the interlocal agreement in place unless you specifically want the bylaws. Boswell pointed out that all the other industrial boards in the area had bylaws.

Donna Caffee asked if Boswell had an update on the RDAPP funds. Boswell stated that she had signed paperwork about two weeks prior and had just received another to sign and the county also had to sign.

Terry Garrett asked if anyone knew any more about the deal with the old Rite Aid building.

Smith replied, “Somethings coming.”

Caffee relayed that in weeks prior, “I came through there and it was kinda like a work truck and it had Cumberland Family Medical on the side of it.”

With no other business to discuss the meeting adjourned.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 20th at 2 p.m. at the Edmonton City Hall.
