EDMONTON, KY. The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) publicly released assessment and accountability data for the 2025-2026 school year today, which are shared through a color-coded dashboard with five colors: blue, green, yellow, orange, and red, in order from highest to lowest ranking.

Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) results for Metcalfe County Schools show improved middle school scores and a slight decline in elementary school scores. While the overall score dropped at the high school, which tests only the 10th-grade level, it was still significantly higher than three years ago. All three schools have shown growth since 2021-2022, when the new performance model was introduced.

Superintendent Josh Hurt said, “Overall, we did exceptionally well. The elementary is doing great in literacy and numeracy, achieving a Green rating for the third straight year, which should build a strong foundation for the future. The middle school showed tremendous growth, scoring Green in Reading/Math for the first time and Green in Science/SS/Writing for the second year in a row. The high school is absolutely crushing it in Graduation Rate, Climate/Safety, and Postsecondary Readiness, which set a new record for MCHS. I couldn’t be more pleased with where we are and where we are headed as a school district.”

KSA scores are always available on our website’s homepage, www.metcalfeschools.com, along with a link to the complete Kentucky School Report Card dashboard.
