Every Saturday the square in Brownsville hosts a farmers’ market. Farmers markets provide not only fresh produce and baked goods but also a sense of community. They are gathering spots for conversation or a quick stop for a treat. The main Farmers Market in Brownsville is always full of friendly faces, you can ask questions about how to grow things or make things and they are always willing to share whatever knowledge they have. Farmers markets offer variety and socializing.

Along with the local farmers market set up each Saturday in Brownsville there are several roadside markets throughout the county. Kids love to visit the small roadside. Edmonson County is blessed to also have several road side stands. These are small and usually have special items. Most have eggs but the items can be anything from cake pops, jams, or crocheted things. These are a quick stop for a treat but also help to provide something like fresh eggs in case you forgot to pick some up.
