Metcalfe County Schools is proud to announce that LeAnne Bell will be the next principal of Metcalfe County Middle School.
“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the next principal of Metcalfe County Middle School,” Bell said. “I look forward to this next chapter, working alongside an amazing staff to serve our students.”
Bell is no stranger to MCMS, where she spent the past seven years as the school’s assistant principal. She takes over for Jenny Stotts-Lundy, who will continue to serve students as assistant principal at Metcalfe County Elementary School.
Superintendent Josh Hurt said, “Mrs. Jenny has pushed the middle school forward academically in her time as principal. I appreciate her work, especially as it pertains to Deeper Learning and Portrait of a Hornet. Mrs. Bell brings a wealth of experience to the position of head principal at MCMS. I am confident she will build a strong culture and ensure that our students, staff, and community will benefit.”
Bell has been with Metcalfe County Schools for 27 years, during which she served as a science teacher, dean of students, curriculum and instruction coach, RTI and dropout-prevention coordinator, and assistant athletic director.
Bell said, “We will continue to focus on building a learning community where every student thrives in a culture of Safety, Responsibility, and Respect—building confident learners, compassionate leaders, and responsible citizens who are prepared to succeed in an ever-changing world.”
Bell and her husband, Brandon, live in Edmonton. They have three children: Claudia (22), Cate (21), and Sam (14).
