The Butler County Arts Guild hosted a lively Gospel Jubilee on Friday, February 13, at the Morgantown Extension Office on Parkway Lane. The free community event featured a variety of talented gospel performers from Butler County and surrounding areas, drawing a full house of enthusiastic attendees.
Jeff Jewell opened the evening with prayer before beginning his musical portion of the program. Don Elmore followed with a couple of songs including one from Johnny Cash and was accompanied by Frank Hobbs. Hobbs then remained on stage, picking up his guitar to perform several songs of his own. Traveling from Bowling Green, Tom Thang and his son shared their musical talents with the audience, followed by Ashlyn Brooks, who delivered a pair of heartfelt selections.

The Richland Baptist Praise Team energized the crowd and had attendees on their feet, waving hands and singing along. Praise Team “Made from Heaven” continued the spirit of worship with several songs, and Sonya King added both vocals and keyboard accompaniment to the evening’s lineup.

Brian, Mike, and Devin closed out the scheduled performances with a few songs before the night concluded in true gospel fashion, as performers and audience members joined together in a final group sing-along that brought the room to life.
Donations were accepted and concessions were available during the evening. The Gospel Jubilee is one of many events sponsored by the Butler County Arts Guild, which also hosts the popular Jamboree and other community arts programs throughout the year.
