The Metcalfe County Middle School Lady Hornets are the 2025 16th District Softball Champions! MCMS defeated Clinton County 2-1 in the finals on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Edmonton Memorial Park. Rory Bragg singled in the bottom of the 5th, allowing Allie June Smith to score the go-ahead run. Bragg recorded six strikeouts, only allowing three hits, and giving up just one walk to take the victory.
Metcalfe County reached the finals after defeating Cumberland County 5-3 on Monday. Several Lady Hornets stepped up to make big plays, which included a two-run double by Lilly Billingsley, an out by Cam Dubree in the top of the 5th, followed by a falling catch by Bailey Morgan to seal the victory.
