Linda Cox and Thomas “T.C.” Crossland coach the Kentucky Smokin’ Clays trap team based out of Todd County. Several of Butler County’s finest shooters recently participated with the team at the AIM Grand National Championship, which is considered the Super Bowl of Trapshooting.
Elivia Heard had one of her best shoots to date! She shot a 199/200 in the AIM Singles Championship. She ran 181 targets straight before dropping her 182nd, then proceeded to finish out straight. This amazing shooting earned her High Junior Lady and the C class Junior Champion (male and female shooters).

Mason Johnson finished the week out running 196/200. Mason is one of the 5 shooters that make up the AAA junior team. That team went on to win the national championship in the AAA junior class, with a team score of 968/1000!
Dalton Hale shot his personal best of 99/100 in the first round and 94/100 in the second, ending the day with a 193/200.
Brennan Smith ran 93/100 first round and a personal best of 98/100 in the second, ending the day with a 191/200. Brennan also ran his first ever 75 straight during his second round, earning him a new patch.
