Bowling Park Food Pantry Nears Completion

The new, larger food pantry at Bowling Park is getting closer to completion. The project began back in 2022 with a Community Block Development Grant Coronavirus Response (CDBG-CV) in the amount of $986,000 for the building, parking lot, and truck access. In July of 2024, multiple over-cost bids and massive inflation forced the park to apply for a second grant to the Government Resources Accelerating Needed Transformation Grant Program, seeking funds from the Cabinet for Economic Development (CED) in order to do work on the parking lot and truck access road.
