The Lady Hornets began the All-A Classic tournament at home against the Cumberland County Lady Panthers on Tuesday, January 7th. The Lady Hornets jumped out to an early lead in front of their home crowd, thanks to a career night from Aubrey Glass who finished with a career-high 17 points. The Lady Panthers narrowed the lead down to three by halftime, 23-20. A 20-point performance from Kassady London would propel the Lady Hornets to a 48-39 victory.
The Lady Hornets would have to turn around quickly, as their second-round matchup would be 24 short hours later. The following Wednesday night the Lady Hornets would make the hour-and-a-half trip west to Todd County Central to challenge the Clinton County Lady Bulldogs for a trip to the All-A finals. The young Lady Bulldogs were able to provide little resistance to the talented Lady Hornet lineup as Jozie Allen led the girls to a 54-34 victory with a 20-point, 13-rebound effort.
Winter weather impacts would push the girls’ All-A finals from Thursday to Sunday evening. With a trip to All-A State on the line, the Lady Hornets would face the tournament host, Todd County Central. A familiar foe, the Lady Rebels upset the Lady Hornets in the semi-finals of the 4th region tournament last season. The Lady Hornets would secure revenge, 55-48 against the Lady Rebels, thanks in part to another 20-point performance from Jozie Allen.

The Lady Hornets will make their first trip to the All-A State tournament since 2021. Metcalfe will face the 16th region winner, Menifee County (11-4) on Wednesday in the first round at Owensboro Sportscenter in Owensboro, KY.
With an impressive 14-3 record and only one loss coming in Kentucky, the Lady Hornets are making noise in the bluegrass state. Behind an offense led by Jozie Allen, who is averaging a nightly double-double (16 ppg, 10 rpg) and senior Kassady London who is also averaging 16 points per game, and a team defense that is capable of applying ball pressure for 84 feet, the Lady Hornets are certainly capable of contending with the prestigious programs they will face at the state tournament.
