Last Monday for Veteran’s Day, the Piecemaker’s Quilting Guild presented Veterans in Metcalfe County with quilts made by their guild members. The main ceremony was held at the Edmonton-Metcalfe Fire Department building. Bill Lytle held the opening prayer and then turned the podium over to Donald Lloyd Commander of the VFW Post 6281.
Becky London read each veteran’s name, who nominated them, who pieced the quilt, who quilted it, and who presented it to each veteran. In total 23 quilts were made for 23 veterans, five of which were presented at the Metcalfe Health Care Center.
Not in attendance was veteran James Bragg who was nominated by Joyce Grissom. His quilt was pieced and quilted by Joyce Grissom.
Veteran Raymond Pedigo was hospitalized. He was nominated by Tammy Harper and his quilt was pieced by the Piecemaker’s Guild and quilted by Becky London.
