A local family is celebrating a new chapter in their lives after working alongside Glasgow-Barren Habitat for Humanity and the community for a new home.
Last Friday, the Bradley family, friends, and members of Habitat for Humanity celebrated at the front doorstep of the new home, which the family assists in building alongside the global nonprofit housing organization. The family moved into their new home on June 1.

Habitat for Humanity requires at least 325 sweat equity hours, or physically assisting in various aspects of the building aspect, inside or out, and those who are selected for building a new home have a front-row seat to build their own homes.
“I would come by every day to see how much more was built,” Danielle said, adding that as the home made progress, the more excited she and her family became.
“I feel so blessed God has given me this,” Danielle said about the opportunity.
While Habitat for Humanity assists families in working to obtain their own homes through donations, chosen applicants purchase the home at cost and will pay their home mortgages similar to any other mortgage loan.
Glasgow-Barren Habitat for Humanity receives most of its fundraising through the ReStore located at 506 West Main Street in Glasgow. The ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center.
Habitat for Humanity is in the process of selecting the next homeowner. For more information, visit www.habitat.org.
