Mail-In Ballot Information

Metcalfe County Clerk Shannon Fields would like to inform the citizens of Metcalfe County about the qualifications to receive a mail-in ballot.

 

To qualify for a mail-in ballot:

The voter must meet one of the following criteria to request a mail-in ballot.

  • Be in the military or an overseas voter;
  • Be unable to vote in person on Election Day due to age, disability, or illness;
  • Temporarily residing out of state;
  • Student who resides outside the country due to school;
  • Will be absent from the country on all days on which all in-person voting is conducted;
  • Voter is incarcerated but not convicted;
  • Participant in the SOS Confidentiality Protection Program; or
  • The voter meets the requirements of a Medical Emergency Ballot.

 

To obtain a mail-in ballot:

Once voter eligibility is established, registered voters can go to govoteky.com or call the Metcalfe County Clerk’s office at 270-432-4821. Absentee mail-in ballots will be available from September 19th until October 20, 2026.

 

Where to send mail-in ballots:

Ballots may be mailed back to the Metcalfe County Clerk’s Office, P.O. Box 25, Edmonton, KY 42129-0025, or use the drop box located inside the Metcalfe County Clerk’s Office for your convenience.

 

Military or Overseas

The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) created special provisions for absent uniformed services and overseas citizens to vote by mail in Primary, General, and Special Elections for Federal Offices; and to allow these individuals to use a Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) in the General Election for Federal Offices.
