Wildcats Take on Tigers in Home Game

Edmonson County faced off against Breckenridge County on September 11, 2026. During the first quarter both teams battled through the heat to have some great plays. #59 Ethyn Ravencraft made a great tackle against Breckenridge on their 5-yard line. #5 Jacoia Orvis recovered a fumbled play in the end zone giving Edmonson control again. Breckenridge slowed down progress for the Wildcats until #2 Conner Whittinghill made about a 20-yard run.  Breckenridge held Edmonson around the 30-yard line for several plays until the Wildcats ran out of time. The Tigers then came back with a 45 yard run. With a flag on the play, it brought Breckenridge to the 5-yard line and then a touchdown. With the extra points it brought the end of the first quarter to Edmonson 0 -Breckenridge 8.

In the second quarter the Wildcats refused to give up and kept the Tigers from gaining very much yardage until Breckenridge threw a pass of about 55 yards then a run onto the 8-yard line. The Tigers scored again. # 2 Whittinghill then made a 44 yard run to score for the Wildcats. Breckenridge then made a 60 plus yard run to score again, bringing the score to Edmonson 6- Breckenridge 24.

 

 

In the third quarter #2 Whittinghill made two 20 yard runs but Edmonson could not get to the end zone. Breckenridge #18 Jacob Spitzer made about a 70 yard run before the Wildcats #4 Bricen Blake and #11 Carson Lee Cole caught him for a tackle at the 15-yard line. After confrontation with an official the Wildcats received a 15-yard penalty. The Tigers then made another touchdown and scored the extra points for a score of Edmonson 6- Breckenridge 32.

#10 Conner Self made a touchdown for the Wildcats at the beginning of the fourth quarter and made the conversion bringing the score to EC 14- B 32. Breckenridge then made a 60 plus yard run for a touchdown. The action slowed down until #5 Jacoia Orvis made a recovery against Breckenridge. The Wildcats then poured all the power they had into the game but could not make the great comeback that was needed. The game ended with a score of Edmonson 20 to Breckenridge 38.
