Winter Storm Fern brought ice and impacted most of Tri-County Electric’s 5,600 miles of power lines. Sunday evening, January 25th, 60% of our approximately 57,000 meters were without power. By Sunday, February 1st, we were down to 60 meters without power.

Tri-County Electric’s employees were assisted by contractors, right-of-way contractors, other co-ops, and municipals. We are grateful to everyone who assisted, including those who cleared roads, provided food, gave encouragement, or performed any other act of kindness.

We know the past week has been stressful and trying for so many of our members. Everyone needs time to get back to normal. Tri-County Electric will not be disconnecting traditional pay members for nonpayment or PrePay members who do not have money on their account from February 2nd – February 6th. PrePay accounts will also be reconciled. Members can contact Member Services at 800-369-2111 with any questions.

While we hope to never see an ice storm like this again, we do want to thank everyone for their patience, understanding, and support. We appreciate everyone!

Tri-County Electric, owned & operated by those we serve.
