Mary Christine Smith

GLASGOW – Mary Christine Smith, 87, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Monroe County Medical Center. A native of Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Fay Clarkson and Ada Turner Clarkson England.

Mrs. Smith was a retired employee of the Ky Pants Company and a member of the East Main Street Church of Christ. She loved her time that was spent with her flower gardening as well as with her grandchildren. Her family was a very important part of her life.

Survivors include three children, Steve Hunt and his wife Stacey of Glasgow, Karen Copass and her husband Timmy of Tompkinsville, and Kathy Bush and her husband Douglas of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Cody Copass (Natalie), Jessica Burris (Zack), Travis Hunt, and Callie Flowers (Lucas); five great-grandchildren, Raulin Copass, Maci Burris, Channing Flowers, Haylin Burris, and Charleigh Flowers; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Jewell Smith; one grandson, Keenan Bush; one sister, Kathleen Clarkson; three brothers, Wendell Clarkson, Ralph Clarkson, and Larry Clarkson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and continue Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
