Shrada Wandaline Cumbee

GLASGOW – Shrada Wandaline Cumbee, 86, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the NHC Healthcare Center. A native of Barren County, she was the daughter of the late John Allen Bowles and Effie Pauline Glass Bowles.

Shrada was a homemaker and mother who loved gardening, sewing, cross-stitching, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended the Big Meadow Baptist Church.

Survivors include five children, Debbie Ward, Rita Cumbee, Raymond “Buddy” Ward, Sandy Lyons (David), and Rhonda Cumbee Beitler (Brett); seven grandchildren, Shannon Ward, Alicia Huff, Brandon Westover, Kali Ervin, Michael Lyons, Chelsea Houchens, and Brent Houchens; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Kyle Bowles (Linda); two sisters, Catherine Bagby (Robert Franklin Bagby) and Vicie Hankins; one sister-in-law, Sue Cumbee; one brother-in-law, Robert Slone; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Dale Cumbee; three brothers, George Luther Bowles, Preston Bowles, and Jim Willis Bowles; and two sisters: Mary Slone and June Gray.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Bowles Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
