Janie Maureen Hobart

EDMONTON – Janie “JJ” Maureen Hobart, 68, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at her home. She was born February 3, 1957, in Burlington, WI, to the late Roger Hobart Sr. and Maureen Sessions Hobart, who survives. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Anderson; ex-husband, Robert Anderson; brother-in-law, Gene Hoffman; her grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

Janie had many passions in life, particularly crocheting beautiful, homemade pieces for her friends and family. She also enjoyed fishing, painting, gardening, especially in her flower beds, and she loved her animals.

Besides her mother, she is survived by two children, Michele Anderson of Edmonton, Steven Robert Anderson (Melissa) of Columbia; brother, Roger Hobart Jr.; sister, Michele “Shelly” Hoffman; special adopted sister, Linda Dyer; five grandchildren, Brittina Lossman (Nick), Brianna Hager (Jordan), Kristina Lossman (Jake), Jackson and Autumn Hinds (Tyler); two great-grandchildren, Madilynn Hager and Deklyn Hager; and niece, Kayla Weber. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and adoptive family and friends.

In honor of Janie’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation. There will be a memorial service held from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton.
