Violet Fant

GLASGOW – Violet Fant, a beloved member of the Glasgow community and cherished homemaker, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at NHC Healthcare. Born on February 9, 1925, in Glasgow, Violet was the daughter of the late Scott and Comell (Davidson) Gillock.

Throughout her life, Violet dedicated herself to her family, raising children, and nurturing her loved ones with warmth and devotion. She was the loving wife of the late William Emil Fant, and together they created a family that would carry on her legacy of love and kindness. She is survived by her son, Harold Fant (Pat), and daughter, Loretta Slater, along with grandchildren, Shane Fant (CheyAnne), Michael Fant (Mandie), Scott Mills (Ashley), Eric Mills (Carrie), Mark Fant (Shannon), Donna Harvin (Paul), and Erica Fields. Additionally, Violet’s legacy extends to 21 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored immensely.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings; brothers, Scott Gillock Jr. and Erskerin Gillock, as well as sisters, Myrtle Morris, Mary Wright, and Aileen Martin; her son, Robert Allen Fant. Each of these individuals held a special place in her heart, and their memories will be cherished alongside hers.

Visitation for Violet will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, with burial at Henderson Cemetery.

The family has requested that alternate expressions of sympathy be sent to the Shanti Niketan Hospice House.

Violet’s unwavering spirit, her gentle smile, and her unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories and a family that carries forward her remarkable strength and compassion.
