Hazel McFarland

GLASGOW – Hazel McFarland, 94, formerly of Willow Shade, KY, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at her home. She was born on June 24, 1931, in Willow Shade, to the late Ezra Lester and Hylus White Lester.

Hazel was of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints faith. She retired from NHC Healthcare as a dietitian and found enjoyment in cooking.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers, Murl, Tennyson, Raymond, Wayne, and Frank Lester; and one sister, Helen Garrett.

Survivors include three sons, Jim McFarland of Glasgow, Dean McFarland (Audrey) of Glasgow, and Larry McFarland of Owenton; two grandchildren, Jay McFarland (Gina) of Glasgow and Brittany Gardner (Chuck) of Summer Shade; and three great-grandchildren, Charli, Mattie Jay, and Raylen Gardner.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, September 5, 2025, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, with burial in Beaumont Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday morning at 10:00 AM and will continue until time of the service at McMurtrey Funeral Home.
