Alice Ferrell Glass

GLASGOW – Alice Ferrell Glass, 85, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025, at her residence following a brief illness. A native of Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Ernie R. Ferrell and Opal Garner Ferrell.

Alice was a 1959 graduate of Glasgow High School, after which she had worked most of her adult life in retail sales. She is most remembered for her years of being employed at Lerman’s Department Store and later at Unique Gifts and Things I Like. She was a long-time member of the Faith Community Church.

Survivors include her husband, Herman “Bubby” Glass; one son, Russell Wells Glass, and his wife, Beverly of Anchorage, Kentucky; two grandsons, Russell Wells Glass, Jr. of Lexington, and Parker James Glass of Charlottesville, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Charlotte Dyer, Ernie Lee Ferrell, Jimmy Ferrell, and Tommy Ferrell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus—Barren River, or to Faith Community Church.
