Carl Anthony Oliver
GLASGOW – Carl Anthony “Tony” Oliver, 69, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Carl Neeley Oliver and Gene Troxall Oliver.
Tony was formerly employed at Glasgow Daily Times, after which he was employed as a truck driver for Houchens Industries, from which he retired. Tony was an avid lover of horses, horseback riding, horse shows, rodeos, and the like. He loved to fish and hunt; he was a member of the Barren River Rod and Gun Club; he greatly enjoyed primitive camping; and he loved the time he spent working with the Glasgow Highland Games. One of his greatest joys came from watching his granddaughters in their dancing and other theatrical and musical endeavors.
Survivors include his wife, Cindie; two children, Amanda Ross (Seth) of Charleston, South Carolina, and Worth Telford IV of Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Callie Ross and Olivia Ross; one brother, Mark Oliver of Glasgow; one nephew, John Luke Oliver of Madisonville; along with several cousins.
The family is honoring Tony’s wish to be cremated. A Celebration of his life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025, at his home. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to help offset medical expenses. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
