Edward Harold Smith

BEAUMONT – Edward “Eddie” Harold Smith, age 67, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. He was born on October 3, 1957, in Glasgow, KY, to the late Sammy and Carol Smith. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

Eddie was a member of the Willow Shade Church of Christ and a volunteer firefighter for the Summer Shade Fire Department. He was a lifelong farmer.

Survivors include his aunts, Barbara Pierce, Doris Smith, and Jean Franks; his stepdaughter, Tara Tillberry; and a host of many cousins.

There will be a graveside service held at the Summer Shade Cemetery on June 21, 2025, at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Summer Shade Fire Department.

McMurtrey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
