Barbara Jean Cavanah

EDMONTON – Barbara Jean Cavanah, 90, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton. Barbara was born August 10, 1934, to the late Claude and Mary Carter in Western Kentucky. Barbara was also preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Cavanah, whom she married on December 26, 1971. She, along with her husband, opened Cavanah’s IGA in Edmonton until their retirement in 1991. Barbara will be remembered for her warm smile and kind words to all she encountered.

Barbara is survived by special cousins, Gary Dixon, Howard Vance Dixon and wife Janice. Other cousins also survive. Special caregivers, Carla Bragg, Faye England, and Debbie Shaw. Special friends, and neighbors on Skyline Drive, Terry and Marsha Jeffries, Howard and Teresa Garrett.

Funeral services for Barbara Cavanah will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Edmonton Baptist Church. The visitation will be at the church after 10:00 AM on Wednesday until service time. The burial will be on Thursday, May 8th, at 11:00 AM at the Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Edmonton Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
