4-H News – Communications contest

Special to the Edmonton Herald-News

Metcalfe County 4-H Youth had an opportunity to compete in the Mammoth Cave Area 4-H Virtual Communications Contest. The youth submitted a video of themselves giving a demonstration and or speech. Our Mammoth Cave 4-H Area Champions and Reserve Champions were submitted into the State 4-H

Virtual Communications Contest and we are excited to announce that Metcalfe County had three youth that advanced to the State contest.

Addison Morgan was Reserve Champion with her 12-year-old Spreading Kindness in the MCA 4-H Contest and received a Blue Award at the State Level.  She was Champion with her Demonstration How to Tie Dye for the MCA 4-H Contest and received Blue at the State Level.

Colton Huffman was Senior Agriculture Demonstration (How to Make a Dish Garden) Champion at the MCA 4-H Contest and received Blue at the State Level.

Cade Huffman was Reserve Champion in the Junior Science Engineering and Technology Demonstration with Squishy Circuits at the MCA 4-H Contest and received Red at the State level.

The communication skills that are developed during the 4-H Communications should help youth in the future when applying for jobs and working to communicate with others.
