Mayor Doug Smith opened with, “I’d like to call a council meeting to order. We do have a quorum present.”
The reason for the meeting was the extension and improvements to Nunnally Road and KY 90 Pressure Reducing Vault, Engineer recommendations, and bid approvals.
Mayor Smith explained, “In your packets are their recommendations. Moe, do you have anything to add?”
“No. Everything looks good,” replied Hensley.
Each contract was approved separately.
Contract #1 – Piping Material Supply for the supply and delivery of piping, fittings, valves, and other associated material. “CITCO Water of Lexington had the lowest bid for this contract in the amount of $26,533.13,” stated Devore.
The motion to approve the bid by CITCO was made by Estes, seconded by Hamlett, and approved.
Contract #2 – Pressure Reducing Vault Supply for the manufacturing, supply, and delivery of a package pressure reducing pre-cast vault assembly with necessary accessories. “One bid was received from Engineering Design Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $39,945,” stated Devore.
The motion to approve the bid was made by Beard, seconded by Nunn, and approved.
Contract #3 – Roadway Bore and Piping consists of the construction of 40 linear feet of directional bore and case for a 3-inch water line, and 80 linear feet of 3-inch HDPE water line. “One bid was received from Stocks Construction Company in the amount of $8,000,” stated Devore.
The motion to approve the bid was made by Estes, seconded by Hamlett, and approved.
The bids totaled $74,528.13 and were within the amount of funding from the Kentucky Cleaner Water Grant to be used by 2026.
Mayor Smith stated that since it was a special-called meeting and all the items on the agenda were discussed, the meeting was ready to adjourn.
