Lady Hornet Volleyball Repeats as Class “A” Region Champs

The Metcalfe County Lady Volleyball Team has made history two years in a row. The Lady Hornets won their first All “A” Classic Region Tournament in 2025 and defended their title this year, winning the 2026 Championship.
Metcalfe defeated Cumberland County in the quarterfinals 2-0 (25-10, 25-14).
Metcalfe defeated Clinton County in the semifinals 2-0 (25-12, 25-23).
Metcalfe defeated Monroe County in the finals 2-1 (25-18, 27-29, 25-15) to claim the title.
Mollie Devore, Ellie Landrum, and Lily-Ann Horton were selected to the All-Tournament Team.
The Lady Hornets will compete for the All “A” Classic State Volleyball Championship on Sept. 18-19 in Owensboro. Metcalfe County will play in Pool D against Heritage Christian, Portland Christian, and Campbellsville.
The # 1 and # 2 teams in each pool advance to the Championship Division Bracket on Saturday, while the # 3 and # 4 teams advance to a consolation bracket.
