Marvette Alice Carroll

GLASGOW – Marvette Alice Carroll, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home. A native of Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Travers Fiore Jordan.

Mrs. Carroll was a hairdresser for 37 years. After her retirement, she became very active in volunteering at various endeavors. She was a volunteer with the T.J. Samson Hospital Planetree Program in the Pediatrics Department and a member of the Samsonite Club. She had also volunteered at the Glenview Health and Rehab Center. She was a dedicated member of the Glenview Christian Church and was a member of the East Barren Homemakers’ Club, of which she had previously served as President.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, James Wilbur Carroll; one daughter, Sharlene Carson of Shelbyville, Indiana; two step-children, Bobby Carroll of Delray Beach, Florida, and Teresa Carroll Pickhart and husband, Eric of New Albany, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Chris Carson (Tina), Joel Carson, Alicia Garver (Donnie), Norman McNeely (his fiancée Nicolle), Nicole McNeely, Heather Butler, Justin Wiley, Erin Carroll, and Amanda Carroll; along with thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Keith Butler; one daughter, Denise Butler Young; one step-son, James Carroll; one brother, Jerry Jordan; and son-in-law, Fred Carson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 202,5 at the Glenview Christian Church with burial in the Lick Branch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
