Margie R. Barnes

JAMESTOWN –  Margie R. Barnes, 90, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Willow Shade, KY, on June 26, 1935, the daughter of the late Flolene (Sartin) and William Thomas Rigsby.

She was a long-time educator, Russell County School board member, and a member of the Russell chapter 432 order of the Eastern Star.

Margie is survived by two sons, B.B. Barnes (Paula) and Brad Barnes, both of Jamestown, KY; three brothers, Bobby Rigsby, of Edmonton, KY, Otis Rigsby, of Willow Shade, KY, and Kermit Ray Rigsby, of IN; she is also survived by 1 granddaughter, Jalena Bryant (Garrett) and 2 great-grandchildren, Jacklyn Rae and William Barrett Bryant, as well a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilbur Barnes, brother, Wesley Keith Rigsby, and sister Martha Jane Hargis.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at H. E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY, with Bro. John Davis officiating.

Public Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 5th, at H. E. Pruitt Memory Chapel in Jamestown, KY.

Eastern Star Service will be on Friday at 7:00 PM by the Russell chapter 432 order of the Eastern Star at the funeral home. Burial in the Wheat Cemetery, Jamestown, KY.
