Ricky Lee Sherfey

AUSTIN – Ricky Lee Sherfey, 61, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was the son of Mary Lou McGuire Birge and the late Danny Sherfey. He was a maintenance supervisor at Akebono in Glasgow who had a sincere fondness for horses and motorcycles.

Survivors include two sons, Derek Sherfey and his wife, Hope, and Corey Sherfey all of Glasgow; two granddaughters, Addyson and Zoey Sherfey; his mother, Mary Lou Birge and husband, William; one brother, Rodney Sherfey and his wife, Angela all of Glasgow; three nephews, Justin, Dustin, and Hunter Sherfey; one step-sister, Denise Birge; his caretakers, Denise Birge, Tracy Reece, Ashley Duncan, and Nancy Mathews; along with several other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Sherfey; his maternal grandparents, Wendell and Lida McGuire; and his paternal grandparents, Haskel and Oberia Sherfey.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025,  at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
