Thomas Hamilton Ferguson

GLASGOW – Thomas H. “Tommy” Ferguson, 74, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Clinton County, he was the son of the late Douglas and Jimmie Alice Gist Ferguson.

Tommy was a devoted Christian and a member of the Bethel Independent Baptist Church. He was a retired employee in the bindery department at R R Donnelley & Sons. He was an avid fisherman, being a member of the Donnelley Bass Club and the Glasgow Bass Club as well as a former owner of Captain Hogan’s Bait Shop. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and being with his sons. He could also be listed as a hobbyist and an inventor; he held the patent for his invention of “Tommy Bars” for motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Riddle Ferguson; two sons, Eric Thomas Ferguson and his wife, Stefanie of Alvaton, and Nathan Douglas Ferguson and his fiancée, Katy Furlong of Glasgow; one grandson, Mason Ferguson; one sister-in-law, Margie Lowhorn; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, June Lee Melton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
