Rodney Allen Pruitt
EDMONTON – Rodney Allen Pruitt, 66, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, peacefully with family by his side at Bowling Green Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1959, to the late Bert and Margie Pruitt.
Rodney was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. He worked at Eatons/Dana Corporation, where he held many positions for over 34 years. He and his family also owned and operated a farm for many years. There was nothing more in life that Rodney loved more than his friends and family. A truly devoted husband of 45 years, daddy, pa, brother, son, uncle, brother-in-law, and a best friend to many who were fortunate to have him in their life. He was an avid sports fan. Rodney enjoyed basketball, baseball, football, and loved playing golf with his friends. The thing he loved the most was sitting on the front row at a gym, ballfield, or golf course supporting his grandchildren. He was always their biggest fan, and they were his.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lecia Lynn Pruitt; a daughter, Heather Pruitt Jessie (Josh); and a son, Nathan Pruitt; five adoring grandchildren, Oakley, Rilie (Clayton), Hudson, Ozzy, and Leo Kullen (Dogman); one sister, Charlotte Gassaway (Jerry Dale), sister-in-law, Angie Branham (Richard); brothers-in-law, Charles Emberton, Nelson Gettings, Gary Goodman, and Quentin Warf. He is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces, and so many friends.
Rodney is preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Gassaway, sisters-in-law, Patricia Emberton, Brenda Gettings, Marcella Froggett, Cynthia Goodman, and Tina Warf; nieces Emily Robyn Hurt and Whitney Barcel Emberton.
Funeral services for Rodney Pruitt will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday and after 8:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, at Rodney’s request donations may be made to Kosair Children’s Hospital, The Ronald McDonald House Charity, St. Jude’s Research Hospital, or the KY Organ Donor Affiliates. Rodney was a proud supporter and donor of organs and tissue.
