Glenda Slayton Krapf
COLUMBIA – Glenda Slayton Krapf, 78, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026. A native of Glasgow, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Sanford Ervin Slayton and Myrtle Clyde Pace Slayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Krapf, and her sisters, Ruby Bowles Kettles, Shirley Pursley, and Terry Lynn Scott.
Glenda was a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marines and a Department of the Navy Civilian for 18 years.
Survivors include three sisters, Sylvia Emberton, Barbara Cook, and Judy Comer (Tony); four children, Tina Patterson (COL Ret. Richard Patterson), Nancy Williams, James Krapf II (Leann), Virginia Gibson (Isaac); 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (CST) Thursday, August 27, 2026, with services at 2:00 P.M. at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
The family will be wearing purple to honor Glenda’s life as it was her favorite color. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff at a date to be determined. Due to cemetery regulations regarding flowers, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made toward the funeral home toward funeral expenses,
