David Lee Dearing

GLASGOW – David Lee Dearing, 68, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Born July 23, 1958, in Glasgow, he was the son of Eva Jones Dearing Renick and the late Royce Dearing.

David was a graduate of Barren County High School and later became a welder and truck driver for a trucking firm until an accident caused his disability. He was saved and baptized in his early years at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Eva Renick and Lowell Renick; his ex-wife, Rita Gay Gillon, along with her son, Kenny Mullins, and several cousins.

In addition to his father, Royce Dearing, he was preceded in death by an ex-wife, Martha Steen; paternal grandparents, Vogel Dearing and Ruth Dearing Moore; and his maternal grandparents, Edna C. Brown Garrett and Floyd Harris Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at the Shiloh General Baptist Church Cemetery in Railton, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations toward expenses may be made at the funeral home.
