Frances Jeanette ” Pat” Poynter
EDMONTON – Frances Jeanette “Pat” Poynter, 84, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Signature Healthcare of Glasgow. She was born on March 30, 1942, to the late James “Ted” and Myrtle Young Brown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Edward Poynter, and her great-granddaughter, Summer Harper.
Pat was a member of Shepherd’s House, where she loved attending church and being surrounded by her church family. Her faith and the time she spent in fellowship with others were important parts of her life.
Pat found joy in the simple blessings around her. She loved watching the birds and squirrels, spending time with her family, and simply enjoying life. She had a genuine love for people and a way of making connections with everyone she met. Pat seemed to know everyone, and she always loved keeping up with what was happening in the lives of those around her. She never wanted to miss the latest news or gossip.
She is survived by her children, June (Tommy) England, Farron (Betty) Poynter, Ronnie (Rhonda) Poynter, and Joe Lane Poynter; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and multiple great-great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Barbara Knipp, Bonnie Jessie, Bill Brown, Gail Scott, Tom Brown, and Jay Brown. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.
Funeral services for Frances Poynter will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and after 8:00 AM Saturday here at the funeral home.
Pat’s love for her family, her kind heart, her love of life, and her unique personality made her truly special. She will be remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
