Jeffrey Hogue

CAVE CITY – Jeffrey Hogue, age 81, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. He was a 1962 graduate of Hart Memorial High School. Jeffrey started his career as a pipefitter/welder with the Pipefitters Local 522 with his dad, Bill Hogue. He was then hired at the General Motors Corvette Plant as a pipefitter/welder, for which he was very grateful. He retired in 2007. This position was very important to Jeffrey so he could provide for his family and stay local.

He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, having faithfully served his country in the Vietnam War. Jeffrey was a member of the South Green Street Church of Christ in Glasgow. He loved working with his hands and had an amazing skill at repairing and building anything. If you needed something fixed right, he was your man and was always willing to help anyone who needed him. He was in the process of remodeling his shop, enjoyed yardwork, and enjoyed driving his 1972 red and white Chevy truck. He liked to watch UK basketball, Cincinnati Reds baseball, eating a good steak down to the bone, and an occasional four-scoop ice cream cone! Some of Jeffrey’s favorite songs included “Forever in Blue Jeans” by Neil Diamond and “Electric Avenue” by Eddy Grant. Above all, Jeffrey loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, especially watching their ballgames.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Hogue and Clara Clymer Hogue; one sister, Marla Hogue Logsdon; and one niece, Leslie Richardson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sonya Lile Hogue; two daughters, Stacey Lynn Hogue Wright (Scott), Amanda Leigh Hogue Lohden (Justin); five grandchildren, Ty Wright, Tanner Wright (Gracie), Gracey Wright, Luke Lohden, and Griff Lohden; two siblings, Marsha Richardson and Gary Hogue (Robin).

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Winn Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at the Houk Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Ch. 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Winn Funeral Home, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and will continue after 8:00 AM on Friday until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the DAV Ch. 20 of Glasgow; these may be left at the funeral home.
