Roy William Buchanan

GLASGOW – Roy William Buchanan, 85, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born on April 12, 1941, to the late William Keith Buchanan and Eva Anna Hurt Buchanan. He was a retired Southern States gas truck driver, and he loved to farm.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Buchanan; four children, Stan Buchanan (Teresa), Steven Buchanan (Elizabeth), Laura Wilson (Randy), and Donna Buchanan; one step-daughter, Tricia Schroeder (Bryan); two brothers, Don Buchanan (Elizabeth) and Ron Buchanan; three sisters, Rosemary Lancaster, Brenda Combs (Jeff), and Beth Ann Spencer (Rodney); nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Buchanan, and one sister, Patty Lancaster.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Deweese Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Monday and after 9:00 am Tuesday until services.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coral Hill Baptist Church or the Boys and Girls Club in Glasgow, Kentucky.
