Lester Eugene Sewell
GLASGOW – Lester Eugene Sewell, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at his residence. A native of Tompkinsville, he was the son of the late William H. Sewell and Vallie Birdwell Sewell.
Lester was a retired manufacturing engineer at Mallory Capacitor in Glasgow. An avid bowler, he was a member of the Senior Bowling League at Maples and Pine. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Coral Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include three children, Jeff Sewell (Susan) of Knoxville, Vickie Leasor and Karen F. Sewell, both of Glasgow; six grandchildren, Heather Francis (Jake), Sara Walker (Tim), Johnny Jessie, Brook Powell (Jordan), Alli Brown (Seth), and Alex Leasor; one sister, Lois Tooley of Tompkinsville; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Sewell (Dean) and Paul Sewell, and by two sisters, Dora Allen and Laverne Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, with burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Sid Yokley Cemetery in Tompkinsville. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to T J Samson Hospice.
