Henry Lee Peden

SMITHS GROVE – Henry Lee Peden, 82, passed away April 30, 2026

He enlisted in the U.S.M.C. in 1962 and served 6 years as an E5-Sergeant. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and retired at age 72. He was baptized at the Church of Christ in Glasgow.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William “Clyde” Peden and Leona Morgan Peden; 4 brothers, Frank, Billy, Ray, and Aubrey Peden; 2 sisters, Faye Bradshaw and Eugeria Groce; and granddaughter April Ottens; and companion, Penny Peden.

Survivors include daughters, Karen Lee Peden (Matt Davis) of Foley, AL, and Teresa Peden Riddle (John) of Bement, IL; and grandchildren, Haley Dill Murphy (Cameron) and Chase Smith (Brittney) of Foley, AL, and Daniel Riddle (Courtney), and Jacob Riddle (Randi) of Bement, IL.; brother, Jimmy Peden (Cherry); and stepdaughters, Kathy Cawthron and Tina Conner of Pensacola, FL; and step-grandchildren, Brandon Cawthorn, Joseph Carney, Kristin Zinman, Rayli South, Tyler Davenport, Paige Thomas, and Noah Conner.

Cremation was chosen and under the direction of Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
