Earnest Lee Bottom

EDMONTON – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Earnest Lee Bottom, who departed this life on April 15, 2026, after a short illness at the age of 92. “Ernie” was born on November 23, 1933, to Gilbert and Madge Bottom. He was very outgoing and loved to dance and was a dedicated U.K. Basketball fan. He was a resident of Edmonton, KY.

He was survived by a son, Rick Bottom (Jody) of Mendota, IL, their daughters, Elle Bottom of Louisville, Emme Prusader (Bryson) also of IL, and daughter, Doreen Chandler (estranged) of Tampa, FL.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, seven brothers, four sisters, a daughter, Connie, and by the love of his life, Helen McIntyer.

Funeral services for Ernest Bottom will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Society Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until time of the service. The DAV Chapter 20 will be providing military honors.
