Peggy Lou Burris

GLASGOW – Peggy Lou Burris, beloved family member and dear friend, passed peacefully on April 1, 2026. Peggy lived a life rich in love, laughter, and devotion to others, especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Peggy met the love of her life, Chuck, and went on to teach English at Glasgow High School. Her commitment to education and excellent grammar left a lasting impact on many students, with whom she was still in contact.

Jesus has long been in Peggy’s heart. She was a member of Faith Community Church. Even as her vision faded, she remained faithful, using magnifying glasses to read scripture. Her vibrant personality and playful humor brought joy to all. She loved theater, music, and reading.

She is survived by her son, Jeff (Janet) Burris; grandchildren, Alec Burris and Sydney (Cody) Hisle; great-grandson, Theodore Hisle; stepdaughters, Kathy (Michael) and Barbara (Alan). She now rests alongside her beloved husband, Chuck Burris; daughter, Molly Lou Burris; parents, Jim and Bessie Lou Mullican; and brothers, Johnny (Laverne) and Jimmy Mullican.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Faith Community Church, 301 Lexington Drive, Glasgow, Ky. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
