The Morgantown community came together on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Butler County High School gymnasium for a benefit auction to raise money for twin sisters Riley and Reagan Cameron. The girls were both diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy at just nine months old, a serious heart condition that has created challenges no child should ever have to endure.
The benefit auction, hosted by the Granville Allen VFW Post 5837, Andy Gidcumb and Bridget Dockery, brought out a large crowd of supporters. The stands inside the gym were full as community members gathered to show their support for the Cameron Family.
Both Riley and Reagan are currently living in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Riley has been hospitalized since July 29, 2025, while Reagan has been there since December 18. Each of the girls relies on a Ventricular Assist Device to help keep their hearts beating as they wait for heart transplants.
The machines are sustaining their lives until donor hearts can be found. Riley and Reagan are officially listed for heart transplants and will remain in the CICU until their perfect matches are found.
Their parents, Haley and Lake Cameron, remain by their daughters’ sides every day, facing fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty while waiting for that phone call that says hearts have become available.
The evening featured live music, a live auction, a silent auction and food trucks. The silent auction included rows of tables filled with donated items from local businesses and individuals, drawing steady crowds of bidders throughout the night.
The many items listed for the live auction ranged from knives and guns to outdoor grills and even a signed guitar from Taylor Swift. King’s BBQ and Maki’s both donated a portion of their evenings proceeds to benefit the Cameron family.
The community turnout was strong, with many generous donations and enthusiastic bidding throughout the evening, all to support Riley and Reagan as they continue to fight.
The night’s fundraiser raised a grand total of $35,755.00, according to organizers with the Granville Allen VFW Post 5837.
The nights event was a huge success, but if you would like to help the Cameron family, they have a GoFundMe account at https://gofund.me/a1db10f12.
