Pat Lakin
GLASGOW – Pat Lakin (Gerald Patrick Lakin) died on September 27, 2025. His ashes will be buried in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery on January 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM. His brother, Larry Lakin, survives him. Reverend Wayne Hensley will officiate the service. All friends are invited.
Pat was born and raised in Glasgow, KY. Joined the Marines, then the Army to become a paratrooper, and completed his national service in the National Guard. He took a 35-year hiatus to Utah for work with The Green River Rifle Works. After the GRRW closed, he worked for the Utah Wildlife Department in a trout hatchery surrounded by Indian land. After retirement, he moved back to Glasgow for the remainder of his life.
Pat greatly enjoyed shooting black powder and the enjoyment of reenactments, as well as scuba diving, hunting, fishing, Rover Scouts, summer work at The Reptile Garden in Cave City, EMT and Mountain Rescue, building a 24-foot tipi at Friendship, brewing beer, shooting marvelous 4th of July fireworks, and a whole lot more. The highlight was an African safari, which was a favorite memory.
