Black Stone Cherry never disappoints when they come home and deliver a hometown show, and last weekend was no different.
The rock band played two sold-out concerts at the historic Plaza Theatre in Glasgow on December 19 and 20, bringing concertgoers from near and far. At least one woman from the United Kingdom traveled over 7,000 miles to see the home show.
The band is comprised of Chris Robertson (vocals, guitar), Ben Wells (guitar), Steve Jewell (bass), and John Fred Young (drums). Black Stone Cherry originated in Edmonton, Kentucky, over 24 years ago.
Black Stone Cherry has built a fan base that stretches across the entire globe. From Colorado and Florida in the states to Prague, Budapest, Ireland, and Vienna, the band already has many tour dates slated for 2026, with most being overseas.
Locals always welcome the group home in big ways, having personal roots tied to the band alongside the talent and success seen from their earliest days. The community is proud to call Black Stone Cherry one of their own and are sure to welcome them accordingly.
In the week leading up to the weekend concerts, Black Stone Cherry announced its new charity, the “All I’m Dreamin’ Of Foundation.”
“This is something we’ve been passionate about and wanted to make happen for some time, and we thought this was as great a time as any to launch it,” BSC said in a social media post.
The All I’m Dreamin’ Of Foundation exists to empower and inspire local artists, musicians, and dreamers alike. Its mission is to help fund and champion community arts and music programs, ensuring creativity, expression, and opportunity remain accessible to all, according to the social media post.
Several businesses in Glasgow noted the home show with exclusive BSC specials with proceeds donated to the new charitable foundation, such as Garcia’s Grill with its limited special of a Black Stone Cherry Margarita and the new Highland Social’s themed cocktails named after the band members: the Forever YOUNG, All the WELLS, Robert’s-SON, and Jewell of Denial.
Wells said on Facebook Sunday, “There is so much to be said about this weekend…All four of us woke up with extremely full and thankful hearts, and that’s because of you.”
He also said the home shows get “bigger and better every year” because of the locals.
Hart, Metcalfe, and Barren Counties are the hometowns of the four band members who make up Black Stone Cherry.
